At the annual BMO Global Metals and Mining Conference in Hollywood, Florida, Frank Holmes spoke with Kitco News’ Daniela Cambone. Frank observed at the conference that investors and mining companies were cautiously bullish on the yellow metal after it crossed above $1,330 per ounce earlier in the month. Mining giant Barrick Gold, which recently merged with another major player Randgold Resources, is in talks to potentially takeover Newmont Mining Corp, which recently joined forces with rival Goldcorp. Frank says this would not be positive for the industry, as it creates too large of a gold miner.
