Frank Holmes Reflects on 2018

Frank Holmes, CEO and chief investment officer of U.S. Global Investors, spoke with Streetwise Reports to reflect on the lessons he learned in 2018 and to look ahead at what might be in store for 2019. One macroeconomic trend Frank believes might carry into the new year is the falling global purchasing manager’s index (PMI), which has contributed to lower commodity prices. However, Frank remains bullish on commodities, such as copper, due to growing global demand and a possible U.S.-China trade war resolution. In terms of precious metals, Frank is rooting for higher gold prices on the heels of increased mergers and acquisitions.
